Prague on weekend

Prague on weekend

Day 1:

Arrived in Prague

8:30 AM –

Take your healthy and fully packed breakfast in your hostel

9:00 AM –

Start your day in Old Town
First thing find a spot to see the Astronomical Clock change on the hour – If you have time before traveling read this post from Prague Experience to learn about the intricacies and history of this clock.
This town square dates back to the 10th century! Take in the beautiful old buildings, and explore the narrow cobbled streets.

10:00 AM –

Go on a Free Walking Tour
Price: Tips Only
Each day there are many companies offering tours of Prague’s old town and the Jewish Quarter. The tours begins at 10:00 am, and they last for 2 – 3 hours.
The Free Tour of Prague starts at the Old Town Square.
On this 2 to 3-hour* walking tour you will cover:
– Old Town Square
– Astronomical Clock
– Tyn Church
– Ungelt
– Saint James Church
– Jewish Quarter
– Franz Kafka
– Maisel Synagogue
– Old-New Synagogue
– Old Jewish Cemetery
– Pinkas Synagogue, etc…

1:30 PM –

Enjoy your lunch

2:30 PM –

Walk over to Powder Tower.
Pay 90 to 100 CZK approx. to climb the 186 steps for an incredible view of Old Town (it opens at 10 am)

3:30 PM –

Charles Bridge is your next destination
Prague has 17 bridges that cross the Vltava River and the Charles Bridge is not only the oldest, but also the most famous. It connects Old Town to Malá Strana (also known as Lesser Town) and has towers on either side that provide wonderful views of the city. Don’t miss the 30 beautiful statues mounted on either side of the bridge.

4:30 PM –

Kampa Island
When you come to the end of Charles Bridge hang a left toward Kampa Island
Make sure to check out
John Lennon Wall (this is right before Kampa Island, so make sure to check a map so you don’t miss it)
Sculpture of crawling babies by David Černý, a famous Czech modern artist right next to the Museum Kampa (Prague’s most famous modern art museum)
Yellow Penguins – an installation made by the Italian “Cracking Art Group”
Optional: Take a cruise ride if you are interested or you can skip this, otherwise you can walk nearby river and see the beauty of Prague.

Dinner

8:30 PM –

Come to your Hostel and take some rest

10:00 PM:

Get, Set and Ready for Night because this night will never come again
Prague has a world class nightlife scene so it attracts a lot of students and parties. That’s because Prague has it all — tons of pubs, dive bars, incredible nightclubs, beer gardens, and everything in between.
One of the best Music Clubs, Strip Clubs in Prague.
It’s your preference either you are interested in Music Clubs or Strip Clubs. There are many clubs who don’t have any entry fee so it’s my suggestion firstly go there. In case you are not liking then you can go to other clubs and spent your money.
But am sure you will enjoy a lot in free clubs also.
Go to Karlovy Lazne, it is the largest facility of its kind in Central Europe. Thanks to its five music clubs on five separate floors, it is also one of the best technically equipped club’s in the world.
Most of clubs open till 5 AM in the morning.

Day 2:

Sunday

8:00 AM-

Breakfast

9:00 AM –

Start your day at the Prague Castle.
If you’re on a budget I say skip buying the pass for the castle and go to the South Gardens first. Here you’ll find some of the best views of the entire city and best of all it’s completely free.
Spent some time here and take pictures with a beautiful view of city which is awesome.

11:00 AM –

St. Vitus Cathedral
You can enter the cathedral for free and take in the incredible architecture from the entrance way (though you won’t be able to walk around without a ticket).
Tip: Make sure to get a good look at the stained glass window on the left of the church right after they check for tickets. This window was made by Alphonse Mucha, a famous Czech artist.

12:00 PM –

Walk towards Tower on Petrin
On the way towards Petrin Tower there are beautiful places like buildings, parks, etc. so you can go wherever you like and take picture’s.
Take your Lunch also on the way.

2:00 PM –

Petrin Tower – Prague’s Eiffel Tower
Dominating Prague from the height of Petrin Hill, the Lookout (Observation) Tower is one of the things it would be a pity to miss if you are in Prague.
299 stairs to climb, about 1 hour of your time and 60-80 CZK is the price you have to pay in order to get on top of the 60 meters high tower on Petrin Hill.
What’s so special about it?
It offers one of the best views over Prague and its surroundings. They say that on a clear day one can see Czech highest peak.

3:30 PM –

Exit the Petrin Tower and head towards New Town of Prague

4:00 PM –

Discover New Town Prague and Walk towards Dancing House
– See the Lucerna Palace, New Town Hall and Dancing House (There is no need to go inside because it’s beautiful from outside take the pictures)
